Crossbow Bolt Drop with Multi-Reticle Scope
Simplified drop estimate to match your reticle's speed-calibrated lines.
How this works
Multi-reticle crossbow scopes come with several horizontal lines, each meant to correspond to a specific yardage when the scope is mounted and zeroed correctly — but those lines are calibrated at the factory for a specific bolt speed. This calculator recomputes where each line actually lands in drop for your specific bolt speed, so you can check whether the factory lines still match your setup.
When this matters most
Changing bolt weight, point weight, or drawing a different peak weight than the scope was calibrated for can shift your real bolt speed meaningfully — recalculating the reticle lines against your actual chronographed speed catches drift the factory reticle alone won't show you.
Frequently asked questions
Why would the factory reticle lines not match my actual bolt?
Multi-reticle scopes are calibrated at the factory for a specific bolt speed — if your actual bolt and point weight combination shoots faster or slower than that spec, the printed lines won't land exactly where this recalculation shows.
What changes my real bolt speed the most?
Bolt weight and point weight are the biggest factors — a heavier bolt or point than what the scope was calibrated for will shoot slower, shifting where each reticle line actually corresponds in real drop.
Should I still confirm at the range even after using this?
Yes — this is a planning tool to check whether your setup is likely to match the factory reticle; shooting groups at each marked distance is the only way to confirm it for certain.
